We are currently seeking a part-time administrator/ teacher to join our team for the 2026-2027 school year:

​Job Description: Part-time Administrator/ Part-time Teacher
 
 
Providence Christian School, a private preschool in Richmond, Virginia, is looking for a part-time Administrator and Teacher to join our staff for the 2026-2027 school year. PCS is a community of Christian educators and committed parents who work together to provide excellence in all facets of a child’s growth and development, including the spiritual, intellectual, physical, and emotional. We follow a Charlotte Mason-inspired pedagogical philosophy, and we greatly value language, art, music, nature, and beauty. Staff members are committed to providing a play-based Christian educational experience to families in Richmond.
 
Annual Salary: $20,000 base salary (more depending on frequency of teaching)
 
Hours: approx. 20 hours per week, primarily during the school day (7:30am to 1:00pm) plus one Saturday a month for Open Houses and occasional after hours administrative work during the school year (late August-early June)
 
Administrative Responsibilities:
  • Maintain good communication with families and teachers about the schedule and rhythms of the school
  • Keep track of all state required paperwork for families and the school
  • Track tuition and after care payments
  • Recruit new families
 
Teaching Responsibilities:
  • Establish and maintain a classroom environment that is in keeping with the Christian faith and Charlotte Mason educational philosophies
  • Plan and prepare units of study, lessons, etc. for a classroom of preschool students
  • Provide guidance and instructions to students in ways that encourage independence and demonstrate respect for their individuality
  • Maintain ongoing records of students’ individual progress and areas of need
  • Communicate regularly and effectively with families
 
Requirements: 
  • A strong commitment to Christ and a desire to share faith with the next generation
  • Experience working with young children, ideally in an educational setting
  • Up-to-date pediatric CPR certification or willingness to obtain
  • Overall willingness to learn and practice the teaching methods of the Charlotte Mason curriculum, including a willingness to read, pursue professional development opportunities, and receive constructive feedback from the Director and the Board of Directors
 
Desirable:
  • 5 or more years of preschool/ kindergarten teaching experience
  • Bilingual (Spanish, French, or Portuguese preferred)
